Why I changed my name!

For a quick update, I decided to change my blog title from “Fitness and Nutrition” to “Running and Slimming”.

I decided to do so because I mainly practice running as my workouts since it is my favorite sport, and because I really love to post facts, tips and own experience about dieting and slimming. I’ve been running and dieting for almost 2 years now, and I know a lot on these two topics and I would like to go deeper into details, be more specific and precise. Believe me, I have some things to tell you!

Moreover, I decided to touch the beauty topic for all the ladies and from now on I’ll be posting tips on how to keep your skin, hair and nails in a good condition – I hope that will be useful too.

For those of you who are still interested in these topics, please feel free to follow and support. I will do my best to be a dedicated blogger and post regularly! I hope you will enjoy ūüėČ

JUST DO IT – A dose of motivation for everyone!

One of my favorite things to do is motivate people to change themselves for the better. Some people need support and encouragement from others in order to pursue a healthy life-style and adapt habits that aren’t easy to adapt. Well here I am – to motivate you for today!

When was the last time you looked in the mirror and loved the way you looked? Do you realize that the only one to blame for the way you look – is yourself. It is not about your clothing brand that doesn’t fit, your busy time schedule or your exhaust. It is about your priorities in life. Everyone chooses to prioritize certain things and set them above other things – so is drinking beers and eating pizza more important than feeling good and confident about yourself wherever you are?

Name me any type of food that tastes better than being fit feels? I guess there is none. Or does being hangover feel better than waking up with a lot of energy and good mood? Or does a bag of Chili Tacos make you feel happier than having a “beach killer body”? I don’t know, you tell me!

Exercise and diet doesn’t only give you the “killer look” that everyone is talking about. It’s not only about the “look”, its more about the way you feel about yourself. Feeling healthy and happy is way more important than feeling pretty. Ambition, energy, confidence – these are the things that come together with exercising! This attitude is¬†contagious¬†– it attracts other people towards you – you become more popular, people want to talk to you! You might not believe me, but exercise is quite addictive as well! Once you get to see the results of your regular training and diet – oh there is no way back for you, believe me!

And in fact, aren’t you tired of always being the one that has to stay in a dark corner at a party and barely talk to anyone. Aren’t you sick of being the “forever alone” person always seeking for some excuses and reasons for which you are alone. And finally, aren’t you just tired of always being dissatisfied with the way you look? So stop complaining – just start now!

I’m sure there is a clothing brand you love but can’t fit. I am sure you have a crush you can’t ever talk to. Change this now! NOT tomorrow, after Christmas or on Monday – start NOW!

Prove yourself that you can, because you really can! Forget about “this is not for me”, or my favorite: “I have a thick bone structure” – come on, you’re not a hippopotamus, you can be fit with your bones – believe me! JUST DO IT!

Here is some more for you!

All fitness, beauty and nutrition bloggers out here – A brave call!

As I have been surfing for hours through the endless spaces of wordpress for more inspiration – it hit me! This might be either surprisingly interesting or utterly stupid, but here is my call: I want to give all the fitness, beauty and diet fans out here a chance to spread the word!

As my inspiration escalated, I realized that my articles aren’t enough to provide people with as much detailed information as they might need in order to proceed with their diet, exercising routine or just achieve their personal goals. I have good knowledge on certain aspects of fitness, nutrition and beauty, but I’m not able to know everything – therefore I need YOUR HELP!

I decided to create an online community where each one of you could share their experiences, expertise and achievements regardless to whether it is about fitness, nutrition or beauty. Are you passionate about exercising at the gym or running and you think you’ve got some efficient workout plans? – share them! Or your biggest interest is eating healthy foods and creating delicious recipes which you are proud of? – share them too! We are here because we like to share your own achievements, receiving positive and supportive feedback and keep improving ourselves.

Therefore I have created a community where everyone can link to their wordpress articles and post about the topics they love the most. Post anything you like: photos, articles, achievements, as well as comment and share as long as its about the topics mentioned in the side-bar (there are quite a lot of them). If you’re interested, like me on my official¬†Facebook¬†page community:¬†https://www.facebook.com/fitandnut

I am alone in this at the moment, but I want to spread the word! I want to create an information platform linked to your wordpress that will inspire all of us and enrich our knowledge! If you think I am talking sense and you find this interesting, just join me ūüôā

Thank you for reading this through! *Sigh* – this was tough for me!

Now besides the OBVIOUS differences between fat and fit, I would like to dig deeper into your personalities, into your issues and self-esteem. I want to convince those stubborn ones of you of the benefits of being fit and of the pleasure that comes with it!

This is NOT only helpful for those of you who want to lose weight and become fit, but also for those of you who are satisfied with their weight – since having a healthy weight DOESN’T necessarily mean being FIT.

So what does being fit give you? Besides the obvious sexy look that all of you want to have – yes, those of you who won’t admit it are just liars. Let’s look deeper into the reasons why you are still giving in to those savory snacks, and always find excuses for yourself.

I want this to be a soul-to-soul talk and I want this article to change your set of mind! What are the major reasons why you feel like dieting and exercising are not for you? Well, let me give you some COMMON EXCUSES that most of the people have:

1. Why should I exercise? I won’t look like a model anyway, I haven’t got those genes! – BULLS*IT! of course you can look good, and of course you can look 10 times better than you do now. The thing is, sitting on the couch and crying about your genes won’t burn any fat tissue.

Weight loss removes those bunny cheeks on your face, thus revealing your cheek bones and giving your face a beautiful shape.

Weight loss makes your body get rid of the toxins that have¬†accumulated¬†during your “snack times” or “Let me eat a burger” times, and improves the quality of your skin. It gives you a natural peach blush and a clean skin (weight loss helps you get rid of your pimples).

Weight loss and exercises help getting rid of the stretch marks on your skin. It takes time, but – they do disappear! Exercises help trimming your muscles thus giving a nice shape to your butt, your legs and your stomach. While muscles get trimmed, your skin becomes tighter thus hiding your cellulite and stretch marks.

Weight loss and exercises improve food digestion – your body starts processing the foods more efficiently and therefore the quality of your hair, nails and skin improves.

Now tell me, how is it possible that all these amazing transformations won’t make you look much better than you do now? OF COURSE THEY CAN! At this moment you’re sitting and thinking that these changes probably only work for Victoria Secret models – and you’re terribly wrong.

Taking an example from myself, I have managed to lose 8kg (19.2 Ibs) and develop trimmed, beautiful muscles in just one year time. My waist got slimmer by 3 cm, my thighs got 5 cm slimmer and I dropped 3 clothing sizes. I became much more energetic during the day and can stand long working and studying hours without trouble. I also developed a habit of waking up early in the morning, something which is beneficial for your daily metabolism and is an essential part of a healthy life-style.

Another major reason for which most of you won’t commit to exercising and eating healthy:

2. I don’t have time – I’m too busy for that!¬†Allright so this means that you don’t have time to become more confident, improve your social life and just feel comfortable in your swimming-suit on the beach!? You don’t have time for making some effort to fit those trendy clothes in the fashion shops, and you’re definitely not interested in going on a date with a handsome guy – it’s all not for you, of course. You better hang out with your belly – I know!

COME ON, doesn’t it sound ridiculous? The thing that bothers me the most, is that it’s all in your hands and you’re 100% capable of changing all this right now, but you’re still hesitating. Isn’t it a waste?

Now here are some more reasons why you should re-think your food choices and defeat your laziness:

– Studies show that if you stop eating fast foods or sweet foods for a while, your body stops craving them. I can assure you – THIS ACTUALLY WORKS (haven’t had pasta and burgers in at least half a year! I must say, I’m really over them and I never even consider them as a food choice for the day)

– Weight loss will ditch the pain in your back, knees and ankles. Do you often find yourself in pain after a long study or working day? Well guess what, it’s mostly because of your extra weight. Your muscles are weak and get exhausted to hold your body weight during the day, and that’s why they hurt. The same with your knees – your body puts too much pressure on them. The best pill against these is controlling what you put in your mouth for a while and doing some movement – works magically!

– If you keep exercising¬†on a long and regular basis without significant breaks, your body will get used to the physical activity and will crave for more exercise. Yes, you didn’t read it wrong – after a while you will actually FEEL LIKE EXERCISING because it is the best way to remove stress and exhaust.

РA solid exercising plan will benefit your sleep! Rest is one of the most important factors in a healthy life-style. During your sleep your body will restore the muscles and burn the fat. You will develop a habit of waking up earlier and will have more energy during the day.

Now you must be a self-hater if you’re still not convinced. And please, don’t start on Monday, the 1st of January or tomorrow – START NOW! Set your goals and begin! It will be a long, difficult and painful journey but it WILL BE WORTH IT!

You can be beautiful and you can look good! Everybody can but not everybody wants – so make a difference and do yourself a favor! I am here to always help you and I am going to guide you through this!

Get your motivation going!

Before we rush into diet planning and thinking of what exercises we want to do first, we need to figure out WHAT exactly do we want to achieve!

I am talking about setting some solid, realistic goals in the beginning of a long and, oh trust me – painful journey! These goals will help you move forward and have a clear focus on the end result…A goal can be anything, here are some suggestions:

– hop on the scale, see your current weight and set a goal weight. A weight you think will be the best for you, weight that you will feel comfortable with. (I will soon create an article with healthy weights for various heights)

– take your measurement string and measure your body parameters. Set how many centimeters you would like to lose in various places of your body.

– take a look in your fridge and your grocery closet. Do you see healthy food? vegetables, fruits, unprocessed foods, full grain bread, fish, meat? (I will discuss the importance of each of these foods in detail). Which foods do you think are harmful for you? Do you think you’re eating healthy?

These are the questions you should ask yourself before rushing into any exercises or diet plans. One thing you’ve got to remember: A diet is not just a 2 week starvation plan and neither it is a massacre! If it feels like it – you’re doing it WRONG! A diet is a lifestyle, it is a way to develop healthy habits and sticking to them.

Believe¬†me I’ve tried everything. I’ve tried starving myself, stuffing myself with vegies and salad everyday, I tried exercising myself to complete exhaust, and what did I conclude in the end? I was doing it wrong.

A proper diet is a change of lifestyle, it is a turn-around of your current habits and behavior, so better think of it another time – Are you really wanting to change for good? Are you ready for it?

If the answer is yes, set some good goals for yourself and wait until I will post my new article about “First steps into a diet plan” ūüôā

Stay focused .
