ICE-CREAM! One of the planet’s most delicious desserts and undoubtedly one of the biggest threats for a lot of dieters nowadays.
Since I always like to cheat on my diet by generating low-calorie or sugar-free substitutes for most delicious desserts of the world, I have successfully figured out a way to cheat on the beloved ice-cream as well.
There are various combinations that you can try out, and I am going to give you a few options. However, you have to take into consideration one important detail. In order for this amazing dessert to happen – you need an ice-cream maker. You can get one quite cheap and it is really easy to use. Believe me it is worth getting one, since it allows you to produce any type of ice-cream you wish with no harm for your diet and 100% pleasure for yourself.
The recipe itself is very easy. My favorite frozen yogurt is made of strawberries, and it is one of the most low-calorie options you can have. A cup of frozen strawberry yogurt will contain about 230 calories, which is quite awesome for a full cup of dessert – you agree right? I prefer my frozen yogurt sugar free, and in order to compensate the lack of it – i add vanilla aroma or powder and 3 tea-spoons of honey.
So here is the recipe:
- 500 grams (around 1 Ibs) of finely chopped strawberries
- 3 tea-spoons of honey
- vanilla aroma or powder
- 1 tea-spoon of fresh lime juice
- 1 cup of plain yogurt
- 2 tea-spoons of green tea
How to prepare:
Mix the strawberries with honey and vanilla. After 20 min blend them in a blender with the yogurt, lime juice and tea. Let the mixture cool down in the fridge, after which you can put it in your ice-cream maker.
Other ingredients you can use:
I have also tried it with kiwi, lime and mint which is an amazing combination as well. You can use any fruit you like for your ice-cream and vanilla with honey would blend with any of it. You can choose to add shredded dark chocolate, raisins or nut chunks, which will affect the calorie amount but not dramatically.
You are free to create your own low calorie ice-cream and enjoy a little bit more of it, with less harm for your diet!
