PANCAKES – I love them! I’ve always been fighting with the temptation of having them, since we all know that they are full of fats and sugars. Not until I developed this amazing recipe that is not only healthy but also harmless for your diet.
The recipe is very easy (you can make about 4 to 5 pancakes out of this):
– 200 grams of whole-wheat flour
– 1 egg
– 1 table spoon of walnut oil
– 100 grams of skinny milk
– 2 table spoons of honey
– 1 tea spoon of vanilla aroma
– 1 table spoon of melted butter
How to prepare: Mix all ingredients together and bring them to a homogeneous mass. You should have no flour clots in your dough and it should look something like this.
Heat up your pen properly and put a few drops of olive oil over it. When the oil is hot too, you can spread your pancakes. Make sure to use as little dough as possible, so you get thin and crispy pancakes. Don’t forget to turn them and fry them on both sides.
Healthy features of these pancakes: As you have probably noticed, there is no sugar in this recipe. I’m always trying to replace it with healthier options or eliminating it at all. In this case I am using honey as it contains a variety of healthy compounds: minerals, amino-acids and vitamins. Honey is not just sugar, it also has healthy features and its calorie content is smaller than the sugar’s.
Nutritional value: One pancake will have about 175 calories. You can have 2 pancakes with reduced sugar jam, or freshly chopped fruits and your breakfast will stay within the limit of 400 calories.
Tasting profile: It’s all about the flavors. These pancakes involve your senses into the tasting experience and the delicate vanilla and walnut aromas will compensate the lack of sugar. The pancakes will have a very gentle texture with a crispy touch.
I hope you like the recipe – let me know if you try it 🙂
